Note: Anti-Virus Software can possibly interfere with TubeSucker's installation, activation, and/or its ability to download videos.
1. Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 2003 Server. For Windows 7 and Vista try to use an Administrator Login to install.
2. Windows Media Player version 11 (the latest). Make sure this is installed BEFORE installing TubeSucker.
3. To play videos, you will need an FLV video codec to enable Windows Media Player to play FLV files (Flash Video).
The FLV video codec is available for free from K-Lite Free Codec Pack.
Download the latest FULL Version (currently 7.8.0) from this link: http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm
Just download and install, and then you will have the codec that you need to play Flash video files with the built-in TubeSucker Media Player. The media player built-in to TubeSucker is based on the exact same engine as Windows Media Player so it can play many types of files at a high quality.
4. Windows 7 and Vista Users Only: TubeSucker automatically updates itself, but on Windows 7 and Vista systems it gives a File Access Error.
For Vista systems, you have to change security settings on the directory "C:\Program Files\TubeSucker" to allow writes for the user name "Users\YOURMACHINENAME".
Instructions to give write permissions:
Using Windows Explorer, select the "C:\Program Files\TubeSucker" directory, right click for menu, then click Properties, Security Tab, select the user, then click on the Edit button, click the Write permission and it will display a check mark. Click Apply, then OK. Now you can get auto updates and life is easier.
If you need to retain that extremely high level of security, you can instead just download the latest TubeSucker.exe file and save it to the "C:\Program Files\TubeSucker" directory.
If an auto upgrade ever fails you can always download and install the full installation. It will see there is an existing installation on your computer and ask you to Remove or Repair. Always choose Remove. After it is removed, then run the TubeSucker.msi installation file a second time to install it.
The first time you run TubeSucker, right click on it and select to Run in Compatibility Mode. You only have to do this the first time.

Corporate firewalls and proxy servers and such can also block TubeSucker from working.

File/Path Access Error when running or downloading a video
You need to configure you Windows system to allow writes to the TubeSucker directory per the above Windows 7 and Vista instructions.
The video seemed to have downloaded in the Download Progress Tab, but it is zero bytes in the folder, or not there.,
Close all of your other program running. Video files are now very large. Often times Windows does not have enough memory to write the file to disk. Unloading programs to free up memory will solve this.
No Audio and/or No Video on Playback
Install the FULL Version of the KLite Codec Pack, the latest version available. See link above.
Program Crashes when I try to Play a Video (".FLV" file)

Only One File at a Time Will Play
Click on the "Select All" checkbox, and then click the Play button.
File Access Error when Playing a Video (FLV File)
When playing a video file, TubeSucker creates a temporary playlist file in the Video Playlist directory that you can set in the Preferences Tab. This directory must be a writeable directory or a file access error will occur.
File Access Error using Windows 7 or Vista during a TubeSucker auto-update process (when it says Downloading Components)
(See #4 in System Requirements for Windows 7 and Vista Users.)
TubeSucker automatically updates itself, but on WIndows Vista systems it gives a File Access Error.

Any Site Function shows no videos in the list to download on Tools tab.
The new Adobe Flash Player now deletes the video from cache, so for now this function is no longer valid, but there are reports on the net that you can use an older version of Adobe flash player, and that it will leave the video in cache.
This behavior has been seen in some Vista and WIndows 7 systems, but not all.
You must make sure that your browser allows for temporary internet files to be stored in cache. (Windows default setting)
To make sure this is the case, run IE, then click on the Tools menu, then Internet Options, then click the Settings button under Browsing History. Set it to a large size like 1024 MB, and make sure the number of days of history to be stored is set to at least 2 days. Usually it is set to 20 days.
It is also theoretically possible that some sites could have a "no cache" statement in the html page and will thus not allow for video files to go to the cache, so they will also not show up in the list. This is rare.
Another thing to check is to make sure that any "privacy software" is disabled. It deletes any termporary files stored in cache.
There is also a possibility that other third-party software could block the normal performance of a Windows XP machine, and thus not let TubeSucker work the way it would otherwise.
There is only one actual program of TubeSucker that contains the free version and all premium versions.
If you have purchased a license, you need to activate it in order to use the premium features for the level of license purchased..
To activate your license:
1. Download, Install, and Run TubeSucker
2. Click on the Preferences Tab at the top, and then click on the "Activate License" button.
3. Enter your paypal email address and click OK.
The program will then check NewRAD's server for your license that was automatically set up via your paypal payment. You will see the title bar change from "Tube Sucker" to the premium version that you paid for, such as "Tube Sucker Pro Turbo Remote". It also displays the version of the program in the title bar. Look at the title bar to verify that it is activated.
TubeSucker can download single videos from a URL, or it can batch download all videos for a given search. But before you begin, you should check the directory locations for your file
Set File Locations:
1, Run the TubeSucker program.
2. Note the five Tabs at the top of the screen.
3. Click on the Preferences Tab and set the directories of the file locations for video, music, pictures, and their respective playlist.
4. Click on the "Save Prefrerences" button.
Download All Videos for a Search
This is what TubeSucker made for. Batch downloading all the videos for a given search on YouTube. TubeSucker can also download videos one at a time which is very time consuming, or it can download all videos for a given search, which really shows off the program's capability.
1, Run the TubeSucker program.
2. Type a search into the Search combo box in the upper left on the Search Tab..
3. Click the Search Button and wait until results are finished loading into the browser.
4. Click the "Download All" button.
On the Search Tab you will see it display the word "Downloading..." in green on the left. In general, try not to interfere with the program while it is downloading.
5. While it is downloading your videos, Click on the "Download Progress" Tab (at the top) to monitor progress.
It will display a thumbnail of each video downloading, and display the download progress. You can cancel a video from downloading at any time.
To Stop a "Download All" operation, click on the "Stop" button, on the Search Tab. Any videos that are already downloading will continue to download, and can be cancelled individually on the Download Progress Tab.
You can also limit your search to videos that are in a duration range, allowing you to download only videos that are less than or greater than time lengths that you select in the drop down boxes on the search Tab.
Play Videos that you just downloaded.
1. Click on the Play Tab.
2. Click on the "Current Seach Directory" button.
This will take you to the directory for which you are currently downloading to. When you do a "Download All" for a given search, a sub-directory for that Serch will be created in your Videos directory and will contain all the files downloaded for that search in that directory.
3. Click the "Select All" check box, to select all videos in the directory.
4. Click the "Play" button.
The videos should begin to play in the lower right hand side of the screen on the Play Tab. This also automatically creates a playlist for these files and puts the created playlist in your Video Playlist Directory that you set in the Preferences Tab.
You must have the FLV Codec (see System Requiremests above) for the downloaded video to play.
Download a Single Video
Simply use the built-in browser to navigate to the video you want to download and Click the "Download This Video" button. Your video will be downloaded to your "My Videos" directory that you set in the Preferences Tab.
Set Directories for File Locations of your video, music, and photos.
Click on the Preferences Tab, and there you can see the locations for all your media files and playlists. There are 6 file locations representing the three major media file types: video, music, and pictures; plus 3 locations for their respective playlists. The file locations for each category correspond to the buttons at the top on the Play Tab. So the six buttons on the Play tab allow you to go to the directory that you want to go to with one click.
Search For YouTube Videos
To do a Search, Click on the Search Tab, type in the Artist name or search topic, then click on the "Search" button, and a list of search results from youtube.com will appear in the browser below. You can browse through the search results by clicking on links as you would a normal browser. You can also navigate backwards and forwards with the left and right arrow buttons at the top of the browser.
Download YouTube Videos
There are several modes of usage for downloading videos. You can download the video from a single URL like when someone sends you a link, or when you surf to a single video you want to download, or you can download all videos for a given search topic.
After you have executed a search, you can browse through the search results and either download a single video, or all the videos for that search, which can be limited to videos longer and/or shorter than an amount of time you select. You can also download youtube.com URL's that people send you through email.
To Download a Single Video browse to that video and click the "Download This Video" button
To Download all Videos for Search click on the "Download All" button. If you already know what you want, you can simply type in your search and click "Download All", and skip the "Search" button altogether.
When a file is successfully downloaded during a "Download All" process, a directory is created for that search if one does not already exist. That directory is created as a sub-directory of the Video Directory that you set in the Preferences Tab.
Download Multiple Videos from a list of YouTube URL's
1. Click on the Batch Download Multiple URLs Tab
2. Paste in your YouTube URLs that you want to download.
3. Click the "Download URLs" button.
4. Check the Download Progress Tab to monitor progress.
Play Media Files with TubeSucker's Built-In Media Player
Click on the Play Tab to play media files with the built-in media player.
You can play selected files directly or you can play playlists files which have an extension of ".m3u" .
Click on the File Location buttons at the top for one-click access to the appropriate type of media files and playlists you want to play: Video, Music, or Pictures..
Select the file or files that you want to play, and click the "Play" button.
You can advance the songs using the Media Player itset, or in Full Screen mode, you can advance to song or video, by Right-Clicking the mouse on the video that is currently playing in full screen mode.
Play The Newest Files First
Click on the Play Tab.
Click on the "Video Playlists" button.
In the file list box, Click on the item "_NewestFirst.m3u"
It will play a playlist of the last 300 files you downloaded.
Note the underscore "_" at the beginning four preset playlists at the top of the list. These are special playlists and are generated automatically when you click on the "Video Playlist" button. The underscore is used so they will always be at the top of the list.
Rate Your Files
It is very easy to wind up with 1000's of videos which makes it hard to find your favorites. Therefore, there is a rating system so you can flag your favorites, etc.
You can rate each video, audio, or picture with a 1 to 5 star rating. You can also click the "Heart" button to set it as a favorite. Or for the really spectacular media files - the kind you might show friends when you only have a short amount of time - there is an All Time Favorite blue star button.
Each time you go to your Playlists directory via the File Location buttons at the top of the Play Tab, there will be new playlists created for your all time favorties, favorties, most stars first, and most recent downloads.
Your file ratings that you assign are stored in TubeSucker's internal database and are dependent on the file location. So if a file is moved, the playlist will skip it.
Play Your Favorite Files First
Click on the Play Tab.
Click on the "Video Playlists" button.
In the file list box, Click on the item "_MostStarsFirst.m3u", "_Favorites.m3u", or "_AllTimeFavorites.m3u"
It will play a playlist of your favorite 300 files in most favored order.
Email Files and YouTube Links to Your Friends
Your can easiliy email links and files of your favorite YouTube URL Links to friends by selecting the file or files you want to send, and clicking the approriate email button on the Play Tab.
Make WebPages of your Favorite Videos
1. On the Play Tab, select the video files in the listbox that you want to make a webpage of, and then....
2. Click the "Make Web Page" button.
You can also make a webpage of all videos in a playlist .m3u file by selecting the .m3u file and then clicking the "Make Web Page" button. To get to your playlist, click on the play list buttons for Video, Music, or Pictures at the top of the Play Tab.
Checking For Updates
Click on the Preferences Tab, and then click the "Check for Updates" button. It will automatically download any program updates and then close and restart the program. You will be able to see the newer version number at the top in the title bar.

This is the main start up screen.
You can select different tabs at the top for different funtion like Search, Batch Search, Play, and Set Up.
The pic on the left is how it looks on start up before you execute a search. The screen shot below shows how it looks after you have typed in a search and clicked the the Search button. You have a list of YouTube results to look at just like you were using your regular browser. From there, you can go to a single video and watch it as normal in the browser, or choose to download it. The free version can do this.
The screen shot on the right shows that you are able to browse YouTube as you would with a regular browser, except it stores each search in your search file for easy retrieval.
You can set time lengths with the Pro version or better to filter search results within a select duration range. So if you just want videos that are longer than 10 seconds but less than 30 seconds, you can do that.
On the Search tab, you can download a single video or download all for a given search.
The picture on the left is how it looks while the video is downloading.
You can also disable the playing of videos while they are downloading, which is important if you want to play something else on your machine while you are downloading.
On the right is a picture of the easy to use built-in player.
One click and you are in the directory of your media files ready to play video, music or pictures, or playlists.
